Trío Arriaga
Considered by the critics as a reference of their generation, the members of the Arriaga Trio have appeared at the most relevant Festivals and Music Halls of Europe, Asia and America. Their soloistic careers took them to perform with Orchestras in Spain and overseas:
The Gulbenkian Symphony Orchestra (Lisbon, Portugal), The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Seville, the Valencia Symphony Orchestra, the City of Granada Symphony Orchestra, the Ensemble Orchestrale de Lyon, the National Symphony Orchestra of Honduras, the Leos Janacek Chamber Orchestra, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, the Spanish Radio-Television Orchestra, the Galicia Royal Philarmonic Orchestra, etc.
They also have performed together with the most prestigious soloists, music ensembles and conductors of the international panorama, such as Y. Menuhin, R. Schmidt, G. Caussé, N. Chumachenco, the Brodsky Quartet, the Gewandhause Leipzig Quartet, the Casals Quartet , the Prague Quartet, J. L. García Asensio, J. Pons, P. Halffter, etc.
Altogether, they have recorded more than 25 cd’s as a soloists and along with renowned musicians and chamber music groups for labels such as Naxos, Sony, Col-legno, R.N.E, SGAE, Verso, etc.
The members of the Arriaga Trio have been awarded at many national and international Music Competitions, such as the Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, the Joaquín Rodrigo International Violin Competition, the Kendall Taylor Beethoven Piano Prize, the Quilter International Piano Competition, etc.In addition, they all have won the 1st Prize at the “Juventudes Musicales” National Music Competition (Spain), in the soloist category.
Educated along various countries including France, England and Germany they have been encouraged by the wise advices of great artists such as M. Vengerov, P. Zukermann, B. Canino, B. Greenhouse( Beaux Arts Trio), M. Pressler( Beaux Arts Trio), P. Farulli (Quartetto Italiano), F. Helmerson, B. Pergamenchihov, N. Gutman, V. Repin, M. Kopelmann, among others.
Future engagements include appearances at Festivals in Lisbon, Murcia, Valladolid, San Sebastián, Armagnac (France), Puerto Rico (Pau Casals Festival) etc. They actually combine their performances with regular jobs at well-known Music Institutions such as the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Aragón National Music Conservatoire, the Barcelona Liceu High School of Music and the Gulbenkian Symphony Orchestra (Leader).
