The program includes Mussorgsky&#8217;s <em>Intermezzo in modo classico<\/em>, Mozart&#8217;s <em>Clarinet concerto <\/em>with Felipe Jim\u00e9nez, and Bizet&#8217;s <em>Symphony in C<\/em>. The concert is part of a four-week residence within the selection process for a <a href=\"https:\/\/filarmed.org\/events\/christian-vasquez-candidato-a-director-titular\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">principal conductor<\/a> that the orchestra is currently carrying out. Throughout this month-long residence, Christian V\u00e1squez will conduct four concerts of different character and varied programs.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Fantastique Symphonie - Hector Berlioz -- Christian V\u00e1squez - Stavanger Symphony Orchestra\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sxEG6lbJ3so?list=PL6Y2Eo22D_lVb4oex2BwUabET7DaeNVN2\"  allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The next concert will take place on Friday 10 September at the Parroquia de San Juan Ap\u00f3stol in Medellin with ensembles from the various sections of the Medellin Philharmonic\u2014strings, wood, brass and percussion\u2014. V\u00e1squez will conduct works by Donizetti, Gounod, Wagner, Copland, Jorge Humberto Pinz\u00f3n or Pacho Flores.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_9630\" style=\"width: 810px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-9630\" class=\"wp-image-9630 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/acmconcerts.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/christian_vasquez_tokyo_philharmonic_takafumi_ueno_suntoryhall-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"Christian V\u00e1squez Medellin Philharmonic\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-9630\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u00a9Takafumi Ueno<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The following week, on Friday, September 17, Christian will conduct a popular program at the Theater of the University of Medellin as part of the social and community activities of the Philharmonic, which will include some of the most popular soundtracks of the last years by composers such as John Williams, Henry Mancini, Hans Zimmer, Lalo Schifrin, Howard Shore, Monty Norman or Ramin Djawadi. Christian&#8217;s residence will finish on Sunday, September 26 with an educational concert that aims to take the audience on a journey from Spain to various Latin American countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Cuba, Argentina and finally Colombia, through works by Ruperto Chap\u00ed, Ger\u00f3nimo Gim\u00e9nez, Rafael Hern\u00e1ndez, P\u00e9rez Prado, Miguel Matamoros, Alberto Nepomuceno, Antonio Est\u00e9vez, Lucho Berm\u00fadez or Miguel \u00c1ngel Mart\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Christian V\u00e1squez is Music Director of the <a href=\"\/?page_id=5159\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Teresa Carre\u00f1o Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela<\/a>, which he led on an important tour around Europe that took them to perform in London, Lisbon, Toulouse, Munich, Stockholm and Istanbul.
