As a member of the ensemble of Oper Frankfurt Juanita Lascarro has become one of the company’s finest assets, earning critical acclaim for her performances as Contessa Almaviva, (Le Nozze di Figar<\/em>o), Pamina (Die Zauberfl<\/em>\u00f6te<\/em>), Manon, Lul\u00fa, Suor Angelica, Violetta, Agrippina, the three women in Mr. Broucek<\/em> by Janacek, Zdenka (Arabella<\/em>), Musetta, Lucia di Lamermoor, Ninetta (La Gazza Ladra<\/em>), Micaela (Carmen<\/em>), Donna Elvira, Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann<\/em>), Ilia (Idomeneo<\/em>), Agilea (Teseo<\/em>), and Daphne, amongst many others.<\/span><\/p>\n

Juanita Lascarro’s current season opens with further appearances at Oper Frankfurt including Christoph Loy’s Producci\u00f3n of Giovanni, Barry Kofsky’s Carmen and David Hermann’s new production of three\u00a0 Ernst Krenek\u00a0 short Operas.<\/span><\/p>\n

The title role of Richard Strauss’ Daphne<\/em> has been particularly significant in Juanita Lascarro’s career. After making her British debut in the British stage-premiere of the opera for Garsington Opera she has since sung the part for the Deutsche Oper Berlin under Christian Thielemann, for De Nederlandse Oper under Ingo Metzmacher, for Frankfurt with Sebastian Weigle and in concert with Edo de Waart at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Other notable appearances have included debuts at the Wiener Staatsoper and Bayrische Staatsoper as Juliette (Romeo and Juliette<\/em>); as Susanna (Figaro<\/em>) and Oberto (Alcina<\/em>) at Opera Bastille and Teatre Garnier in Paris; as Fiorilla (Turco in Italia<\/em>), Melisande (Pelleas et Melisande<\/em>),\u00a0 Musica and Eurydice (Orfeo<\/em>) at La Monnaie, Br\u00fcssel; as Poppea at Opernhaus Z\u00fcrich; as Poppea, Antonia, Mimi (Leoncavallo) and\u00a0 Adele (Fledermaus<\/em>) at Theater an der Wien; as Marguerite (Faust<\/em>) in Leeds; as Henze’ s Manon (Boulevard Solitude<\/em>) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona; at the Staatsoper Berlin in L’\u00c9toile under Sir Simon Rattle; at Teatro Real, Madrid and in Martinu’s The Greek Passion at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.<\/span><\/p>\n

In concert her performances include appearances with Gewandhausorchester Leipzig under Lothar Zagrozek,; Deutsche-Sinfonieorchester Berlin under Vladimir Ashkenazy; the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Antonio Pappano; the G\u00fcrzenich Orchestra under James Conlon; la Orquesta Sinf\u00f3nica Nacional \u00a0de M\u00e9xico under Carlos Prieto; and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra under Jesus Lopez Cobos; the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the Proms under M. Inoue; the Finish Radio Symphony Orchestra under Sakari Orano; the\u00a0 BBC proms under Markus Stenz and she\u00a0 performed the Bachiana Brasileira with the 12 cellist of the Berliner Philharmoniker at the BBC Proms, Berlin\u00a0 and the Salzburger Festspiele.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her discography include Les Contes d’Hoffman and Alcina for Erato, Der Silbersee for BMG, Die Verlobung im Traum for Decca, Der Zwerg for EMI, La Senna Festeggiante for Opus 111, Arcadian Duets from H\u00e4ndel for Virgin, a selection of Spanish songs for Opera Tres, with the Katona brothers, a selection of De Falla works for Channel Music; Il Medonte for Deutsche Hamonia Mundi, Julietta (Martinu) for Oehms and Haydn Opera Gala for Capriccio.<\/span><\/p>\n
